Quilt Show Entry Rules

1. Quilts must have been constructed/quilted by person(s) named on registration form.  A completed registration form must accompany each entry.  The quilt must NOT have been entered in either of Piecemakers’ other two quilt shows.

2. A quilter MAY enter a quilt(s) that she/he made prior to becoming a member of Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

3. Each entry must have a fabric I.D. label with the maker’s name legibly written in permanent ink on the back of the quilt.

4. Each entry must be accompanied by a color photograph for insurance purposes.

5. Entry fee of $6 per item MUST accompany registration form.  Make checks payable to Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

6. Non-judged entries will require the same fee and will be displayed on a space-available basis.  This fee will be refunded to the entrant if the quilt is not hung due to space limitations.

7. All quilts must meet a category requirement.  The Registration Committee reserves the right to move a quilt to a more appropriate category, if necessary.

8. All entries must be delivered in a separate fabric bag (i.e. pillowcase).  The participant will receive a number which MUST be used to retrieve the quilt at the end of the show.

9. Entries will be available for pick-up after the conclusion of the show on November 20 at the Showmen’s Club in Riverview, Florida.

10. All entries except home décor items and miniature quilts must have a hanging sleeve of 4 inches.

11. Entered quilts must be complete, clean, undamaged and ready to hang to qualify for exhibit.

12. Quilts containing both pieced and appliqué techniques should be entered in the Mixed Techniques category.

13. Limit is two quilts per category per person.  Space limitations of the venue, however, may necessitate the need to limit the number of entries per person.

14. Entries must be available for judging and display from October 16 – November 20, 2010.

15. Contest entry implies consent to photograph quilt for use in event-related publications and publicity.

16. Ribbons will be awarded to the entrant for Best of Show, Best Hand-quilting, Best Machine-quilting, Best Reflects Theme of Show, and Viewer's Choice, in addition to first, second and third place in each judged category.  Honorable mention ribbons will be awarded at the judge's discretion.  All ribbons may not be awarded if this is the judge's decision.  The Best of Show quilt will be chosen from among the first place winners in each category.

17. Each quilt is to be given a title by the entrant.
